Stir Fry Beef with Red Peppers
A delicious entree that takes just minutes to prepare. The sauce has a nice balance of sweet and spicy flavors. A perfect complement to the tender beef.
Ingredients
1 large red bell pepper
1 pound boned beef loin top sirloin steak
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/3 cup lime juice
2 tablespoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce, found in the Asian section of the supermarket
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, adjust to your taste
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
cooked white rice
Directions
Cut bell pepper in half lengthwise. Remove seeds and stem. Cut into strips about ¼-inch wide. Set aside.
Trim any fat from steak. Pat meat dry with paper towels. This will help it brown more quickly rather than steam. Slice into strips across the grain, about 1/8-inch thick.
Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over a high heat. Add bell pepper to hot oil and cook stirring until crisp tender, about 4 minutes. Spoon peppers into a bowl.
Return pan to heat. Once hot, add beef strips and cook stirring constantly until meat is no longer pink inside, about 3 minutes. Spoon into bowl with peppers.
Return pan to heat. Add remaining ingredients, except cilantro. Bring to a boil and cook a few minutes stirring. Add bell pepper and beef back into sauce and cook just to heat. Season with salt and pepper.
Spoon stir fry over cooked rice and sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
