Roasted Pears with Goat Cheese
A wonderful dessert! The balsamic vinegar caramelizes slightly in the oven and tastes rich and heavenly when combined with the baked pears and creamy goat cheese.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter
2 Bosc pears, ripe but still firm; halved lengthwise and cored
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
4 slices from a log of goat cheese
4 tablespoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY
freshly ground black pepper
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 °.
Place butter in an 8-inch square pan. Put in oven to melt butter. Place pear halves cut side down in butter. Bake 15 – 20 minutes or until pears are just tender. Drizzle balsamic vinegar over pears and bake 5 more minutes.
Remove from oven and place each pear half on a plate along with one slice of goat cheese. Spoon juices from pan over pears and then drizzle pears and cheese with honey. Sprinkle with a little freshly ground pepper.
