Fresh Peaches in Red Wine

A simple but elegant dessert using end-of-summer juicy fresh peaches. Serve topped with a dollop of cream or yogurt.

Ingredients

1 cup dry red wine

1/2 cup orange juice

1/2 cup GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY

1/2 cinnamon stick or 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon orange zest

1 teaspoon lemon zest

4 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced

To make honey, bees drop the collected nectar into the honeycomb and then evaporate it by fanning their wings.

Directions

In a medium saucepan bring wine, orange juice, honey, cinnamon, orange and lemon zest to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Pour into a bowl. Add peaches to wine and cool. Chill for up to 6 hours.
