Dried Cranberry Turnovers

These impressive fruit turnovers could not be easier to make. They would be perfect as a special addition to breakfast or serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Ingredients

1 frozen puff pastry sheet (from a 17 1/4 oz package), thawed

3 ounces cream cheese, room temperature

2 tablespoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY

1/2 cup dried cranberries or cherries

1/4 cup golden raisins

1 egg, beaten

2 teaspoons sugar

Honey Tips

Honey Is Sweeter Than Sugar

Due to the high level of fructose, honey is 25% sweeter than table sugar.

Directions

Preheat oven to 400°. Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly coat with non-stick cooking spray.
Unfold pastry sheet. Cut into 4 equal squares.
In a small bowl, combine cream cheese and honey. Spread 1/4 of cheese mixture on each pastry square, leaving a 1-inch border.
Mix together cranberries and raisins. Spoon fruit over cream cheese. Brush border with beaten egg. Fold pastry over to form a triangle. Crimp edges by pressing a fork on border. Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle each with 1/2 teaspoon of sugar.
Place turnovers on prepared sheet. Bake about 20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
