Orange Walnut Bread

The sight and smell of homemade quick bread evokes warm memories. This enticing loaf is moist and studded with nuts and a hint of citrus flavors.

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY

1/4 cup butter

1 cup milk

1 egg

1 tablespoon orange zest

3/4 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped

Honey is one of the oldest foods in existence. It was found in the tomb of King Tut and was still edible since honey never spoils.

Directions

Preheat oven to 350&deg. Grease and flour a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
In a large bowl beat honey, butter, milk, egg and zest until well combined. Add flour mixture and beat. Stir in walnuts. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake 50-60 minutes or until bread tests done. Cool on rack 10 minutes. Remove bread from pan to cool completely.
Yields: 1 loaf
