Honey Tips
Honey Is One of the Oldest Foods
Honey is one of the oldest foods in existence. It was found in the tomb of King Tut and was still edible since honey never spoils.
Directions
Preheat oven to 400°. Butter a large roasting pan. Arrange bread in pan in a single layer. Beat milk, eggs, cinnamon and nutmeg in medium bowl. Pour egg mixture over bread. Cover pan and refrigerate until liquid is absorbed by bread, about 1 hour, turning once. Bake French toast in the same pan, about 15 minutes. Turn and cook an additional 15 minutes, or until tester inserted into center of bread comes out clean. To prepare syrup, stir orange juice and cornstarch in saucepan until smooth. Add honey, stirring over medium heat until thickened. Add butter, lemon juice and orange peel, stirring until butter melts. Serve over French toast. Serves 4.
