Honey Tips
Honey Is One of the Oldest Foods
Honey is one of the oldest foods in existence. It was found in the tomb of King Tut and was still edible since honey never spoils.
Directions
Place water and lentils into a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover pan and simmer lentils on low heat until tender but still firm, about 25 minutes. Drain, reserving ½ cup liquid. Sauté garlic, onion, green pepper, cumin and chili powder in olive oil for just a few minutes. Add tomato sauce, vinegar, honey and reserved lentil liquid. Stir well. Pour into pan with lentils and simmer for 5 minutes. Serve over rice topped with a dollop of plain yogurt. Serves 4.
