Honey Tips
Honey Is One of the Oldest Foods
Honey is one of the oldest foods in existence. It was found in the tomb of King Tut and was still edible since honey never spoils.
Directions
In a small saucepan, bring lentils and water to boil. Reduce heat, partially cover and simmer for 25 minutes until all liquid is absorbed. Place lentils in a bowl. Add vinegar and mash thoroughly. Set aside.
In a medium-size skillet, heat oil. Sauté onions over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Mix in next 5 ingredients. Continue to sauté until vegetables are tender, about 5 to 10 minutes.
Combine lentils, vegetable mixture, and bread crumbs. Blend well. Chill mixture for 1 hour before forming burgers.
When ready to cook, shape into 4-inch burgers. Heat small amount of oil in skillet. Sauté burgers until heated through and crusty on the outside, or, if preferred, broil for 5 to 8 minutes on each side.
