Old-Fashioned Meatloaf

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef

1 egg, beaten

1/4 cup dried bread crumbs

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1 clove garlic, crushed

1/4 teaspoon dried basil

1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce, divided in half

2 tablespoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY

1 tablespoon lemon juice

No need to refrigerate it. It can be stored unopened, indefinitely, at room temperature in a dry cupboard.

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°. Combine ground beef with egg, bread crumbs and seasonings. Add 1/2 cup of the tomato sauce. Mix lightly to blend. Put into a 9 inch pie plate. Shape into a ring. Combine remaining tomato sauce with honey and lemon juice. Spoon over top of meat. Bake, uncovered for 45 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Freezes well. Delicious hot or cold. Serves: 4.
