Ingredients
3/4 cup shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY
1 egg
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground cardamom, separated (cardamom can be expensive, so look for it in the bulk spice department of your grocery store)
1/4 cup sugar

Honey Is One of the Oldest Foods
Honey is one of the oldest foods in existence. It was found in the tomb of King Tut and was still edible since honey never spoils.
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°.
In a large mixing bowl, beat together shortening and brown sugar. Add honey and egg. Continue beating until well combined.
Mix together flour, baking soda, cinnamon and 1 1/2 teaspoons cardamom. Add to shortening mixture and beat until combined.
In a small bowl combine sugar and remaining 1/2 teaspoon cardamom. Form dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar mixture. Bake 8 minutes or until cookies are golden and tops are slightly cracked. Cool on a wire rack.
