Honey Tips
How Honey Is Created
Honey is created when bees mix plant nectar, a sweet substance secreted by flowers, with their own bee enzymes.
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°.
In a large mixing bowl, beat together shortening and brown sugar. Add honey and egg. Continue beating until well combined.
Mix together flour, baking soda, cinnamon and 1 1/2 teaspoons cardamom. Add to shortening mixture and beat until combined.
In a small bowl combine sugar and remaining 1/2 teaspoon cardamom. Form dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar mixture. Bake 8 minutes or until cookies are golden and tops are slightly cracked. Cool on a wire rack.
Yields: approx. 48 cookies
