Applesauce couldn’t be easier to make! This recipe yields a fresh tasting and slightly chunky sauce. Serve alongside your holiday latkes.

Ingredients

8 medium to large sized red skinned apples such as Macintosh, Gala or Johathan

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Honey Tips

Honey Bees Need Water

To keep their hives strong, beekeepers must place them in locations that will provide abundant nectar sources as well as water.

Directions

Peel apples. Cut into eighths and remove core. Place apple pieces in a medium pot with water. (Do not worry that there is not much liquid. Apples will cook down and release their juices.) Heat to a simmer. Cook 20-30 minutes stirring often and breaking up apple pieces with the back of spoon. Cook until apples are desired consistency. Stir in honey and cinnamon. Refrigerate until ready to use.
