Homemade Fruit Honey Butters

Add these fruit butters to your pancakes, waffles, muffins, scones and biscuits for a delicious twist over traditional breakfast butter.

Ingredients

Strawberry Honey Butter

1 pint strawberries

3 tablespoons SILVER BLOSSOM HONEY

2 teaspoons lemon juice

3/4 cup butter, softened

Pear Honey Butter

2 very ripe Bartlett pears, peeled, cored and cut into cubes

1/4 cup butter, cut into cubes

2 tablespoons SILVER BLOSSOM HONEY

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 teaspoon cardamom

Orange Honey Butter

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/3 cup SILVER BLOSSOM HONEY

2 teaspoons grated orange zest

1 teaspoon orange juice

Honey is one of the oldest foods in existence. It was found in the tomb of King Tut and was still edible since honey never spoils.

Directions

Strawberry Honey Butter
Puree strawberries in a food processor or blender and pour into saucepan. Add honey and lemon juice. Bring mixture to a boil and continue cooking about 3 minutes until thickened. Cool.
Beat together softened butter and strawberry mixture. Put into small bowl or crock and refrigerate until ready to use.
Pear Honey Butter
In a small saucepan, simmer pear cubes over a medium heat for 15 –20 minutes mashing pear with a fork as they soften. Simmer until liquid has evaporated. Remove from heat. Stir in butter, honey, and spices. Cover and refrigerate up to 1 week.
Orange Honey Butter
In a small bowl, cream together ingredients. Refrigerate. To serve, bring to room temperature.
