4 Golden Delicious apples
1 (1.4 ounce) chocolate covered toffee bar, such as Skor
2 tablespoons butter, divided
1 cup apple cider
3 tablespoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
vanilla ice cream, if desired
Honey Bees Need Water
To keep their hives strong, beekeepers must place them in locations that will provide abundant nectar sources as well as water.
Using a small sharp knife or melon baller, remove the stem and core of each apple leaving the bottom intact. Stand apples up in a baking dish.
Crush candy bar in a plastic bag by hitting it with a mallet. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of candy bits around the apples. Divide remaining pieces evenly among the cavity of each apple. Place ½ tablespoon of butter in each cavity.
Gently warm cider, honey and ginger stirring just until honey is incorporated. Pour over apples and into cavities.
Bake about 1 hour and 10 minutes or until apples are tender, basting occasionally with sauce.
To serve, spoon sauce over apples and serve with ice cream if desired.
