Canadian Bacon Bagels

Warm honeyed apples over melting cream cheese topped with cheddar cheese and bits of bacon. An incomparable breakfast!

Ingredients

Apples:

2 teaspoons vegtable oil

2 Granny Smith apples, each apple cored and cut into 16 wedges

3 tablespoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY

Bagels:

4 plain bagels, halved

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, room temperature

8 tablespoons shredded cheddar cheese

8 slices Canadian bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces

4 scallions, chopped

Honey has different flavors and colors, depending on the location and kinds of flowers the bees visit. Climatic conditions of the area also influence its flavor and color.

Directions

Preheat oven to 425°.
Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add apples wedges and drizzle with honey. Cook 3 minutes, turn wedges and cook another 3 minutes or until apples are golden and begin to brown. Remove from heat.
Spread one tablespoon of cream cheese on the cut side of each bagel. Place on a cookie sheet. Top each half with 4 apple wedges. Sprinkle each with one tablespoon of cheddar cheese. Divide bacon pieces and scallions over bagels.
Bake in preheated oven for 8 minutes. Remove from oven and serve warm.
