Ham Steak with Raisin Sauce

Ham steak is an easy and quick dinner. The raisin sauce elevates this dish into a special meal.

Ingredients

1 1/4 pounds fully cooked bone-in ham steak

1 tablespoon olive oil

Sauce:

1/4 cup shallots, chopped

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 1/2 cups apple cider

2 tablespoons GOLDEN BLOSSOM HONEY

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon yellow mustard seeds

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

2 tablespoons butter

1/4 cup raisins

Directions

Heat oil in a large skillet. Add ham slice and cook 4 minutes. Turn slice and cook another 4 minutes until golden. Remove to a platter and keep warm.
In the same skillet sauté shallots until golden, about 4 minutes. Stir in ginger, cook one minute. Add apple cider, honey, vinegar, mustard seeds and mustard. Bring to a boil. Boil on high 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in butter and raisins. Heat until butter melts. Spoon sauce over ham to serve.
