Honey Tips

How Honey Is Created

Honey is created when bees mix plant nectar, a sweet substance secreted by flowers, with their own bee enzymes.

Directions

Strawberry Honey Butter
Puree strawberries in a food processor or blender and pour into saucepan. Add honey and lemon juice. Bring mixture to a boil and continue cooking about 3 minutes until thickened. Cool.
Beat together softened butter and strawberry mixture. Put into small bowl or crock and refrigerate until ready to use.
Pear Honey Butter
In a small saucepan, simmer pear cubes over a medium heat for 15 –20 minutes mashing pear with a fork as they soften. Simmer until liquid has evaporated. Remove from heat. Stir in butter, honey, and spices. Cover and refrigerate up to 1 week.
Orange Honey Butter
In a small bowl, cream together ingredients. Refrigerate. To serve, bring to room temperature.
