Honey Tips

Honey Is One of the Oldest Foods

Honey is one of the oldest foods in existence. It was found in the tomb of King Tut and was still edible since honey never spoils.

Directions

Syrup:
Place orange slices and honey in a medium saucepan. Let stand for 10 minutes. Add orange juice and vodka. Bring to a boil, cover and cook for 5 minutes. Uncover and continue to simmer about 15 more minutes until orange slices are translucent.
Strain syrup through a fine sieve into a bowl, pressing on solids to extract liquid. Chill. Syrup can be made up to 3 days ahead.
Cocktails:
Remove 4 long strips of orange peel from orange. Twist the strip and place it in a Champagne or wine glass. Add 1 tablespoon of chilled orange syrup to each glass. Top with Champagne, stir gently.
