Monte Cristo Sandwich

A scrumptious and satisfying sandwich. Perfect for those days when you are craving something special for lunch.


Mustard Dipping Sauce:

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard


1 tablespoon orange juice


2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

4 slices lean deli ham

4 slices smoked turkey

4 slices Swiss cheese

8 slices white or wheat bread

2 tablespoons butter

powdered sugar for garnish, optional

Honey Flavors and Colors

Honey has different flavors and colors, depending on the location and kinds of flowers the bees visit. Climatic conditions of the area also influence its flavor and color.


In a small bowl whisk together all ingredients. Set aside.
Whisk together eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Place one slice of ham, turkey and cheese on each of 4 bread slices. Top with a spoonful of sauce. Place remaining bread slices on top to complete sandwiches.
Melt butter in skillet. Once hot, dip assembled sandwiches in egg mixture turning to coat. Place on skillet and cook until golden. Flip and continue cooking until remaining side is golden and cheese is melted.
Remove from heat, slice diagonally in half, and sprinkle with a little powdered sugar if desired. Serve with dipping sauce.
