Valentine’s Day Appetizers

This delicious Valentine's Day Appetizer prepared by Ashley Lurie AKA @cocktail_chef caused our heart to skip a beet!

Ingredients

Crusty French Bread

Strawberry Preserves

Ricotta Cheese

Red Beets

Golden Blossom Pure and Unfiltered Honey

Honey Tips

Honey Is One of the Oldest Foods

Honey is one of the oldest foods in existence. It was found in the tomb of King Tut and was still edible since honey never spoils.

Directions

Roast beets (covered in a roasting pan with olive oil, salt, and pepper) for 2 hours on 325 until fork tender. Allow to cool
Slice thick and cut out with a petite heart-shaped cookie cutter, and set aside.

Slice bread on an angle, brush with olive oil, and toast on low heat for 5-7 mins or until crunchy

Spread a thin layer of strawberry preserves on the “crostini” and then spoon on a thick layer of ricotta cheese.

Arrange greens atop ricotta. Gently place the beet hearts on the crostini’s and drizzle generously with Golden Blossom Honey!
