2 Tablespoons unsalted butter or margarine
1 Tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 (16 ounce) bags frozen pearl onions, thawed

In a small saucepan, stir first 7 ingredients over low heat until warm. Toss with onions.
Spread in a single layer on a foil-lined baking sheet. Roast, stirring often, for about 35 minutes until onions are golden brown.
